Meet Marlee. She is a five-year-old Colorado girl who was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness.
After a Corporal with the Littleton Police Department (LPD) was made aware of Marlee’s condition and her extreme love for everything police, especially police S.W.A.T, the LPD partnered with Littleton Public Schools (LPS), South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR), and the Colorado Army National Guard (COANG) to give Marlee a day she would never forget. Marlee was officially sworn in as an officer and then was called out by dispatch to pursue a bad guy, and from there, she proceeded to conquer the world.
Marlee, working with the help of her mom and her sisters Oakley and Charlee, made friends with the Littleton S.W.A.T. team, Army National Guard helicopter pilots, and SMFR firefighters. In the end, she made an arrest, locked up the bad guy, and ultimately saved the day.
Marlee even received a special thank you and recognition from Littleton Mayor Kyle Schlachter, who presented her with a key to the city.
LPD is thankful to our agency partners and to Marlee for helping us keep the city safe. LPD is also grateful to Marlee’s family for sharing your story with us. As you move forward in the fight for Marlee’s health, please know that you have an entire police department and many others behind you, rooting for Marlee.
