Fatal Bicycle Crash

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, The Littleton Police Department (LPD) charged 39-year-old Beth Ann Hutchinson with Careless Driving Resulting in Death in this case. The investigation is complete.

On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, Littleton Police Department (LPD) and South Metro Fire and Rescue (SFMR) responded to the intersection of South Elati Street and West Arapahoe Drive on the report of an automobile and bicyclist traffic accident at 8:04 a.m.
LPD and SMFR immediately performed life-saving measures for the bicyclist. However, after utilizing every tool available, the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The bicyclist involved in this incident is a juvenile and was a student at Euclid Middle School.
Any loss of life is difficult, but the loss of a child is heartbreaking. LPD is grieving with the family and friends of the child and with those impacted in our community.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene; no charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. Due to the age of the victim, no further information will be released at this time.
