On Monday, October 14, The Littleton Police Department (LPD) responded to a call of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian around 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and West Powers Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they were able to determine that two individuals had been in a minor car crash that escalated to an argument. When one of the drivers exited their vehicle, the other driver hit the individual, running them over, and fled the scene.

Officers were able to locate the driver of the vehicle that fled the scene and took 41-year-old Rene Cooke into custody. Cooke is charged with vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital by South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) and remains in critical condition. This is an on-going investigation.
